Really Though!?!

Hi all! It's been a long time. How are you enjoying your summer? Today I want to talk about skin-care comparison. I know that I am biased but it's annoying when people insist on comparing their regular skincare products to my anti-aging products.  I feel that they are not in the class and my timewise products are awesome.

And I know I am not in my 40's yet but I believe in prevention. And I don't think it's best to wait until you have wrinkles to start using anti-aging products. What is the first thing they people see when they look at you? (drumroll please) YOUR FACE.

Check out the miracle set (which lasts about 6 months if used properly~ Less is more)

Goal-Setting

I haven't posted anything in a while, and I am sorry about that. I'm also an elementary teacher and preparing for the close of the school year can be kinda crazy. But now that the academic year is over and my summer vacation has officially begun, I can exhale...... Today I want to talk about something that really stuck out to me at a training that I attended this past Tuesday with my fabulous National Sales Director (NSD) Lisa Madson.

She said that we should dream beyond the bills. Because consultants make 50% of whatever they sell, money played a key role in my decision to sign up with Mary Kay. And my goal was to earn money to pay off my bill and debt. But now, after the training I realize that it is not fun to just focus on my bills. And because it isn't fun, my drive to meet that goal is not as high as it could be. So now I have changed my thinking to focus what I want beyond my bills. I don't think the things that I currently want are unreasonable, lol.

I want a cleaning lady for my house, and I want to travel to Europe with my dear hubby who has supported my Mary Kay business since Day ZERO <3.  I just need to reach my daily goals so that I can ultimately ROCK each month! Sooooooooooooooo, adios amigos. I must go and book ppl so that I can sell and share :-) Enjoy the rest of your weekend. And please pass this post on if you would like to help me because I am also looking for people to take my 30 day Lash Challenge.

Here's how it works: For only $50 you agree to use Mary Kay's new Lash&Brow Building serum, Lash Primer and any of their mascaras for 30 days. (The retail value of this set is $68). After your month is up, if you are happy with the results, you keep your products which you bought at a discount price. But if you are not satisfied, then you return the products to me and you get your money back or product credit (whichever you decide). Email me at fmarc@marykay.com if you are interested :-)

Getting in the Groove

Hello World. Hopefully the weather is wonderful where you are. I've been busily lazy. I know that is an oxymoron, but trust me when I tell you that it is possible.

Well, I never got to do the restaurant event, but I did try the Deserted Island game for the first time and I ended up getting over 50 referrals from only 6 people and that is a first for me. So all in all  I did try something new and I did get new results.

I've also been packing for a move into our first house, so juggling all of my responsibilities has been an adventure.

Have a blessed day! (Btw, whoever is reading this, please comment and  please follow and recommend this blog to your people. Thanks in advance)

April Showers Bring....

There are 2 more days left in this month. And unfortunately, this was a slow month for my so I am really anticipating May. I'm looking forward to the new month because the possibilities are endless. My first restaurant event will be in May. And I will be on-target to earn a Mary Kay car in May. I do need help with something though. In training, I was told that I should record or write/ post my own personal affirmation but I keep feeling that it's too much of a cheesy thing for me to do. I would want something that is short and sweet and that's part of the problem for me. The sample affirmations that I keep hearing are long. But honestly, I'm just making excuses for my hardheaded-ness, lol. So I guess I should add that to my list of May goals. I will make my affirmation gosh darnit! I will accomplish another 30-10-600 ~In MK language, that means facial 30 faces, do 10 sharing appts where I share the MK opportunity with 10 ppl, and submit a $600 order (from sales). So to conclude, April showers bring MAY POWER :-D

New Results

I hope everyone had a great day, despite the dreary weather. Today reminds me of New Edition's song.... "Sunny days, everybody loves them. Tell me baby, can you stand the rain?".....

Anyhoo, I am now at the point in my business where I need to do something different in order to get new results because I am pretty much done with working my friend and family circles. And sadly, I already have a list of friends/family who I will no longer talk to about my Mary Kay business because they either made discouraging remarks to me, or they just refused to support me. So Lesson #1 is people surprise you when you least expect it. Those who I thought would surely support me did not. And those who I didn't think would really care, they are the ones who were more willing to help me. And I am so thankful for my hubby who has had my back from Day 0. I would not have decided to become a consultant if he hadn't said some magical words to me. "If it were so easy, then everyone would do it".

So, back to what I originally wanted to say.... I need faces! I have been challenged to facial 30 faces in 30 days. So, I need to take one more step away from my comfort zone and do a restaurant event with my Director so that I can be more exposed to people. Wish me luck guys. The saga continues, lol

No More Pity Parties!

I missed a few day days. I had teaching stuff to deal with and just a lot of running around.  I want to share something that I was made to realize today at an awesome Mary Kay training meeting.  My Senior Sales Director said the leaders don't remain in their pity party; we should cry and move on. It make me see that I was  dwelling in a pity party for the past few days, and I no longer want to live like that. I don't want to waste my energy focusing on what's going wrong in my like and business. I need to concentrate on the positives. And because I am a leader, when something happens that does make me question or feel upset, I should "cry and move on". As of today, I am starting a Gratitude Journal (also my Senior Director's idea).  Every night, I will list everything that I am thankful for in my life.

SB:I need to help to meet my challenge of facialing 30 faces in 30 days..........Are YOU local?  Can YOU please help me? ;-)

PINK

Today was kinda slow. But I was remarking how I love baby pink now because of Mary Kay. I feel like I have to, well I want to, represent Mary Kay in all aspects of my life with this color. For example, when I got a cover for my ipad, I got  a light pink one. And then when I ordered a handcrafted jewelry tree, I made sure that I requested a light pink base to represent Mary Kay. And I was the first person to ever ask for that color so she had to go out and find it, lol.

http://www.myarbelle.com/  is the place to order these unique and customizable jewelry trees ;-)

Anyhoo, baby pink is my new favorite color because I am loving Mary Kay and I am excited about the way that it has changed my life. Now all I need is the pink cadillac to match, lol!

I Believe in Destiny.....

I hope that YOU are having a great Monday. I teach first grade so thanks to one student in particular, I did not have an easy day. She's really challenging and the more I think about it, the more I realize that she is the worst student that I have ever had in my 11 years of teaching first grade for one reason only. She has absolutely no fear/respect for authority figures. UGH!!!!!!

I don't want to dwell on a negative aspect of my life because if I do, I will scream. But I brought this point up because it's connected to a what I want to talk about today. I believe in destiny........

I honestly believe that things happen when they're supposed to. I feel so lucky to have started my Mary Kay business in August of 2011. Right before I started the most challenging academic year in the history of my teaching career. And my blessings don't stop there, because I was also very fortunate to have been recruited by     a director who is helpful, knowledgeable, supportive, generous, and caring. And my NSD is the awesome Lisa Madson so I am constantly being encouraged, praised and trained to be successfull!!! http://web.me.com/dmadson1/Lisa_Madson/Your_Future_is_Now.html.

So when I am feeling my lowest at my "day job", my Mary Kay business allows me to focus on a positive aspect of my life. If I didn't have MK, I hate to think what this academic year would have been like. So yes, I do believe in destiny, and I thank God everyday for his perfect timing :-)

Happy Sunday!

Well, today is a gorgeous Sunday and I am looking forward to facialing a mother and daughter (with some friends) this afternoon. I love when women are really interested in skincare, because ppl fail to realize that it is better to take good care of your skin than to pile on make-up in the hopes of covering up. Too much of a good thing is bad. And We need to invest in great skin care products because unless we're rich, we only get one face. And what is the first thing that ppl see when they look at you? Drum roll please........YOUR FACE. So please don't neglect your face.

Anyhoo, prom season is fast approaching and I am hoping to reach out to highschool juniors and seniors who want to look to Mary Kay Fabulous on their special night ;-) And when I facial women who are that young, I use the new Botanical Effects collection because it is good for ppl with sensitive skin, it is hypoallergenic, and it is not anti-aging. This line is better suited for them. http://www.marykay.com/fmarc/content/whatsnew/newproducts/botanicals.aspx

And another thing, have you ever looked at a person's picture and inwardly cringe because 1. their foundation or powder looked wayyyyy too light, too dark, or just too much 2. their face looked so shiny and greasy. 3. their make-up just looked a hot mess. Well I have numerous times and I always wonder how they feel when they see how they look in their own pictures, because that is really the only way that we can see what others see or saw on the day that the pic was taken. And what makes it worse is that I know that I would be able to help them if only I had the opportunity. I want to help women to do better because if they don't know better, things won't change. I love the Mary Kay motto~ "enriching women's lives" because face it ladies, our self esteem magnifies when we know we look good.

Well, I did a Mother/Daughter double facial today and they were both really pleased. The daughter wants to become a consultant; plus the aunt booked her own appt in the upcoming weeks. I enjoy doing facials, but I need to to start book more parties (3-more ppl) because this will enable to reach my goal of 30 faces/per month quicker, and parties are more fun, lol.

When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade :-)

Hi! I was supposed to have a party at my SIL's last night, but ppl backed out one by one, until there were no guests left. I was disappointed at first. But then I realized that it was not going to change the facts. So rather than cancel, I changed my mindset in the hope that something good would happen anyway. We had a nice time and I was able to discover a certain eye look, which actually benefited me because I learned something new while teaching something new. And if I had just stayed home, I would not have learned about the "exotic eye"  :-).

SB: Today was a slow day but I did get to do a facial. Also, I can't wait to get the prize that I earned for being a Star last quarter.  (To be a Star Consultant, you have to sell at least $3600 worth of products in a 3-month quarter. The Mary Kay year is from July to June so we are currently in the fourth quarter for this MK year). Lastly, my goal this month is to facial 30 faces and I want to ultimately be a star again during this quarter.

Intro to Meeee

I'm new at blogging, and I'm already mad at myself because I didn't save my first post and it vanished so now I have to start all over. smh! Anyhoo, HI, I'm Fanty and I am an Independent Beauty consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics (and I earned my red jacket, so I'm technically called a Star Recruiter). I LOVE IT, but if you had told me last spring that I would be where I am today I would have surely laughed in your face. Not because I had an opinion of the company and products, but because I was a shy person who just did not like to step out of her comfort zone.

The day that I met my current Sales Director, she tried to recruit me and leaned over to my friend and say "I'm too shy". And my SD said, "I find that many shy people don't want to be shy." Well, all who know me know that I am usually quick with witty or sarcastic remarks. Well, I was dumbfounded, because I couldn't think of a comeback because I felt like she was sooo right about me, lol. Well, after asking tons of questions I signed up thinking "Oh, I'll try it for 6 months or a year and if I don't like it, or if I'm losing money- I'm out!" Well, I haven't had a regret since:-) This blog will pretty much consist of my day-to-day experiences as a consultant, some product reviews, and my goals and accomplishments. Thank you for entering my world :-)
